Eating healthy does not have to be boring, it can be fun and rewarding. Amanni and I found this out after a doctor’s visit and experimenting in the kitchen! Our healthy eating journey began after Amanni was diagnosed with ADHD in the 3rd grade. Before then we lived for eating but we now have learned how to eat to live. After many hours of researching ADHD it was clear that Amanni’s sugar intake was one of the biggest disruptors of her attention and behavior. As a family, we decided to remove white granulated sugar from our cabinets. We noticed positive changes right away. Not only did Amanni’s behavior improve, but I lost weight with minimal effort. This small change made a huge difference, and we didn’t want to stop there. We had discovered a new way to think about eating, and we experimented with new recipes. We set out to prove that Amanni could enjoy the same foods without the addictive white sugar.

Amanni was never a fan of school lunches but the lunches we made at home weren’t very creative. This book makes it easy for Amanni to pack her lunch and make great food choices. This book will encourage children to try new food and change how they think about healthy food. Making healthy choices can be yummy and fun!
